CATH & CHRIS

So, we have to talk about gorgeous golds, mix-matched bridesmaid style and silk taffeta wedding gowns. I didn’t even realize that was a thing for wedding dresses until I saw Cath’s simply elegant gown and fell in love. It was also a perfect light-weight material that effortlessly held it’s A-line shape in what felt like 100 degree heat on their wedding day! Cath and Chris planned the most classic and classy wedding celebration starting with their ceremony at Immaculate Conception Church in Montclair and reception at the Glen Ridge Country Club.

Cath and Chris’s story starts with a wedding and a photo… (how perfect).

Chris’ friend pulled out his phone to showing him a picture of his newborn son. While the baby was adorable, Chris couldn’t help but notice the cute strawberry blond that was also in the picture. He asked who she was and found out it was his friend’s sister-in-law. Fast forward a couple months to an annual friends corn hole tournament. Chris meet up with his friend again and goes to help him grab stuff from his car. When he got there, who pops out but Cath. As stated in their own words, “We hung out, sparks were not flying.” Despite a lack of flow to their initial conversation, God had other plans for these two and they ended up hanging out again, and again, and again. It was definitely working and soon after they realized they were meant to be with each other forever.

They know they wanted a quiet, private moment when it came to the proposal. Since they had shared so many memories on Cath’s back porch, Chris decided that would be the perfect spot. He planned a nice long date day to get Cath out and decrease suspicions – a hike around the Delaware water gap followed by a vineyard wine tasting (drinking wine overlooking a beautiful vista after a workout should be everyone’s go-to recovery method.) While this was happening, Chris’ sister and Cath’s best friends were creating the perfect setting on the back porch with flowers, Christmas lights and anything and everything gold. Cath’s parents “conveniently” invited them for dinner that night and when they arrived Chris brought Cath up the back steps where they were transported to a magical twinkle-lit world. They were both genuinely surprised at the decorated setting, although Cath started to get some inkling of an idea what he was up to. They chatted a little, taking in the moment and then Chris got down on one knee and asked Cath to marry him.
