LIZ & ALEX

Liz and Alex’s wedding day was an absolute dream! They had perfect warm, sunny weather and a jaw-dropping venue view to celebrate their party. We ran ahead of schedule the whole day, which everyone knows is probably singlehandedly the most impressive accomplishment on a wedding day and everyone was all smiles and totally relaxed! It really was the best day a couple (and photographer!) could ask for!

Liz and Alex met as freshmen at Penn State. They were introduced through mutual friends at a big group dinner the first week of classes and from the moment they met their chemistry was undeniable. They became close friends quickly and started dating a month later! They soon found out that they had actually grown up about 20 miles apart from each other in New Jersey and had only crossed paths at college. Isn’t that the sweetest! It’s so crazy how God works in our love stories. He always has this perfect plan that we have to wait and stay faithful to see unfold. It’s only in hindsight that we can see how it all makes sense!

Liz and Alex chose to share a first look together and it was unforgettable. The look on Alex’s face seeing his bride for the first time was a moment that I am sure Liz will never forget. We got to capture some beautiful portraits of them before their ceremony at one of my favorite churches, Saint Vincent Martyr in Madison. The joy these two share together and that they share with others is contagious – there were smiles and laughter everywhere, which truly adds to the excitement and beauty of the day.

During the ceremony, Msgr. George likes to share his personal experience with the couple during marriage prep, honor their love for each other and read to the audience “love letters” that they both wrote explaining what they love most about each other. This moment is a highlight for everyone because it’s such a profound tribute to love and commitment. There wasn’t a dry eye in the church as Msgr. read the words written by Liz to Alex and Alex to Liz.

The story sharing didn’t end at the church. The best man, Andrew, Alex’s close friend and Caroline, Liz’s sister and maid of Honor and John, her father, all reminisced about the last eight years of Liz and Alex’s relationship, as well as a couple old stories that paid tribute to their character. There were lots of laughs. Especially when Andrew impersonated his former persona as a Penn State tour guide in order to take everyone on the “journey of Alex and Liz’s relationship” and described the one night they talked for hours like no one else was in the room, except all their friends were still in the room, and decided to entertain themselves with a full on photo shoot with an unknowing Liz and Alex in the background. Their Penn State friends kept the dance floor lit all night until the pseudo flash mob took over when the requested My Chemical Romance song, Black Parade came through the speakers and everyone lost their minds.

It was a wedding for the books and will definitely go down as one of my all time favorites. Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs. Mura! I wish you both a lifetime of joy and many blessings to come!
