Married | The View on The Hudson, Piermont, New York

Friends! I’m so excited to share Michele and Chris’ beautiful wedding day with you! After spending a fun evening on the lake taking their engagement pictures I knew that their wedding day was going to be an UH-mazing day. Not to mention it also was the same day as the royal wedding!

These two has the most chill bridal party ever. The girls were all smiles hanging out together getting their hair and makeup done when I arrived and Michele was all sorts perfect in her white bridal robe and long pretty lashes. She showed me where her details were and I’ll tell you when I saw her dress I almost dropped. It was GORGEOUS! Like, dream dress status. If I could do it again, hands down, I would pick her dress for my wedding day. It literally took my breath away. The rest of her details were equally beautiful. The florals were the most stunning blend of light and dark purple hues accented with puffs of ivory hydrangeas and roses. Overall, their romantic, chic style was tied through everything and they celebrated a joyous day with their close family and friends.

As we prepared the week leading up to their big day, we watched the forecast as April showers hadn’t quite got the memo that May flowers were supposed to be making their debut. The prediction was spotty rain and clouds, so we hoped for the best and prepared for the worst. Michele and Chris were such good sports about the rain and trusted in our contingency plan, but, luckily, the rain held off for most of the day and we only had to battle some misty air during photos. The fog that came actually created a soft mysterious backdrop for their waterfront portraits, which was beautiful! The rain is a funny thing. No one, of course, really wants rain on their wedding day, but when it does happen and everyone embraces it like this couple, you end up with the best scenario – spontaneity, genuine laughter and emotions and lots of creativity.

One of the most special moments of the day was Michele’s first look with her Dad. Michele’s sister, Jess, led her Dad in while he shut his eyes and stood before his daughter. When he opened his eyes and saw Michele for the first time as the beautiful bride she was he literally slept a little in place and then the tears started to well in his eyes. My heart! It was such a touching moment between father and daughter and I am sure one that everyone will remember as one of the highlights of the day. Michele and Chris exchanged their own written vows overlooking the Hudson in a intimate ceremony led by Chris’ grandmother, Rev. Vicki. I always love when family is incorporated in such meaningful ways! Chris and Michele’s godchildren were also part of the ceremony tossing flower petals and carrying the rings up the aisle.

From the champagne dress, to the champagne toasts and all the moments in between, Michele and Chris’ wedding day was truly one for the books and a fantastic way for me to celebrate wedding season since having our son, Patrick!
