MICHELLE & JOE
Elegant Crimson Winter Wedding | Published
Friends! Today is a really exciting day because Michelle and Joe’s whimsical winter wedding is featured on New Jersey Bride and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
Every detail about Michelle and Joe’s wedding emanated elegance. From the crystal beadwork of her to dress, to the casacading bouquet of crimson roses and greenery, to her pave edged rings and shimmering diamond wedding cake, every detail spoke to sophisticated glamour while keeping in timeless tradition. I think I speak for all of us when I say that the best detail of the day was the light flurry we had during the end of our couple’s portrait session. There was no precipitation in the forecast and it wasn’t even bitter cold, so no one was anticipating and snow. By mid-afternoon we were losing the end of the sunlight and temperatures were starting to drop when suddenly a rush of air swept through the park and a swirl of snowflakes started falling around us. It was the most magical experience that I really can’t describe other than to put it how Michelle did, “It was a wedding present from my mother who passed away.” We knew that in that moment she was with us and celebrating with her daughter and new son.
Tips From The Bride
In Michelle’s Words: I knew I had to have a winter wedding when I went to a wedding several years ago in December, and while it was cold, there was this PERFECT flurry that I could only dream about for my own wedding someday. Booking a December wedding, I knew that a flurry was unlikely, but I had a small inkling of hope. I wanted the wedding to look like Christmas meets winter elegance meets rustic. We picked a beautiful ballroom right on the Hudson River. In searching for my ideal dress, I went to a Cristiano Lucci trunk show, where they had unique dresses that had just been used for bridal fashion week. I tried on my dress, and I knew it was “the one” because it had a princess feel without being over the top, and it had sequins that I knew would be complemented by the flurry I still had my heart set on (but knew would NEVER happen). I worked to find a florist who would honor my vision as best as possible, as I wanted pine cones and berries and a winter element that said “chic” without being too rustic. I found these amazing Kate Spade ivory/gold wedges, and a hair piece that conveyed the winter elegance I wanted to display.
If I could change one thing: I would have started the day a little earlier so that I could have followed everyone else’s advice which was TO EAT!
My Advice For Other Brides: Even though you know it’s all going to come together in the end, try to pull the smaller details together sooner rather than later so that your heart is at peace!
Michelle and Joe thank you so much for having me be a part of your wedding day!! I am so honored to have witnessed such a magical and spiritual wedding, and I know this is just the start of so many good things to come! From Rutgers University, to the boardwalk of Asbury and the edge of the Hudson River, this truly has been a wonderful ride and I’m so happy to call you friends!
