AMILEE & JEFF

Married  |  The Westin Governor Morris Hotel, Morristown, NJ

We have all heard that God works in mysterious ways, and Jeff and Amilee’s story is no exception. These two first met during a job interview – Jeff, the interviewer for his youth ministry organization (Fiat Ventures), and Amilee, the interviewee. Jeff is usually sharp as a tack, but something about this meeting had him off his game. There wasn’t much he remembered from his first meeting with Amilee, except that she was perfect for the job and she was perfect for him. The only problem was figuring out how to make both happen when it didn’t seem possible.

Amilee walked away from their first meeting in a similar flurry. She immediately called her best friend, and Maid of Honor, from college to tell her all about the interview. By the end of the conversation she had told her MOH everything about Jeff and nothing about the position she just interviewed for! She, too, wanted to give both a try, but had no idea how! Luckily, Jeff trusted that God had a bigger plan for everything and hired this beautiful, highly qualified, enthusiastic woman, despite his desire to date her. Amilee accepted the position and their love story officially began.

They quickly struck up a friendship and began to see that their initial attraction to one another ran much deeper than the butterflies in their stomachs. Their hearts were full of joy when they were together and they strengthened each others character. It wasn’t long after joining Fiat Ventures that Jeff and Amilee took the next step in their relationship. In an effort to keep things professional at work, they were quiet about things for a while. I remember right before the holidays talking to Jeff about a project when he mentioned, “Oh, and, I just wanted to let you know that Amilee and I are dating, and we are just starting to tell the staff members so that there ins’t any wondering since were going to be doing things together a lot more now.” I laughed with joy at the pleasant surprise and Jeff’s nonchalant drop of big news. I was beyond happy for them. They were perfect for one another and complimented each other so well. They trusted and took life one “next-right-step” at a time and God rewarded them.

As you know from their engagement session post, in typical Jeff fashion several months later, he called me saying, “Amilee and I just got engaged! We were wondering if you could do an engagement session this week so we can get save the dates out since the wedding will be in September.” That was three months away 🙂

These two pulled everything together in their short engagement and we had an absolutely beautiful end of summer wedding celebration with them. Here are some highlights from the day. Enjoy!
