MEG & PETE

MARRIED  |  ROYCE BROOK GOLF CLUB, HILLSBOROUGH NJ

Where do I even begin telling you about the perfection of Meg and Pete’s wedding day!? The sunny, summer day, the group of amazing girls at bridal prep, the glorious light and tiffany blue walls we had for Meg’s portraits, her stunning Allure gown, Pete’s reaction seeing Meg for the first time, the friends and family that gathered from all over the country to witness the ceremony, their 22 person bridal party that partied the whole day with them, or the tented outdoor reception with billowing white chiffon and chandeliers from the ceiling – whewph! I could go on and on, people! The blessings were endless and they couldn’t have been a more deserving couple.

The moment I walked into the house at bridal prep I was surrounded by loooots of girls, shining beauty lights, laughter, flowing champagne and plumes of hairspray. So, basically, the best wedding day morning ever. Everyone was bustling around excitedly getting hair and makeup done or chatting with friends they hadn’t seen in a while. Meg and Pete had friends from all over travel to be part of their wedding celebration!

Meg’s house was absolutely perfect to get ready in – it was literally a photographer’s dream. The soft blue accent walls, vintage decor with clean whites and lots of gorgeous natural light. It was like the room was made for this day and these photos. The church was equally as beautiful and the most quaint setting for their ceremony. Meg and Pete incorporated many family and friends into the ceremony, including some special little people who adorned the aisle with rose petals and carefully brought the rings to the altar.

Seeing Meg and Pete exchange vows at Saint Vincent Martyr in Madison, NJ was emotional for everyone, and they even added a special part of the mass to exchange a third ring symbolizing Meg’s commitment as a mother to Pete’s young daughter, Sophie. I always love witnessing the deep rooted traditions of the wedding ceremony, which also why making any modification to it so powerful. Their mass was very meaningful and, during the homily, the priest ready aloud letters that Meg and Pete wrote to each other telling what the other means to them and why they love each other. This moment was so incredibly special because it really brought us all into another level of connection with the two of them as well as allowing us a brief moment into what is usually held private and only shared between the couple.

Photographing Meg and Pete was so natural and easy and despite the golf course venue where you usually think everything will be highly manicured, we were lucky to even have a sprawling overgrown field that we had a lot of fun taking portraits in. Their reception at Royce Brook Golf Club was decorated with whites, golds and greens with hand drawn calligraphy signs and custom luggage tag escort cards. Their travel theme was refined and elegant using a marble globe guest book and framed photos of them in the places their love story has already taken them. If I were to replan my wedding day again this is one of my top three themes to incorporate! I LOVE travel themes!

As expected, speeches were brilliant, hilarious and revealing about both Meg and Pete, the bar flowed endlessly, and the dance floor was full all night. it was the perfect kick off for the start of forever for these two and I am so very excited to see what is next for them! Congratulations Meg and Pete!

Cheers to a fantastic creative team!
