LAUREN & ROB

Engaged  |  Alexandria, Virginia

One of the cool things about marriage is that sometimes you double your friends group overnight. Literally. Joe’s friends are super awesome, kind people and I’m so lucky that I have the opportunity to be friends with their girl friends, fiancees and wives who are equally as wonderful.  Joe and Rob have been best friends since they can remember. Their relationship has stood the test of time, distance and professions for the past 30 years – isn’t that totally nuts! I think it’s a rare and fantastic thing to have a close friend by your side for every life event, major decision and milestone since you were a child. So it was an honor and incredibly exciting when Rob asked Joe to be his Best Man.

Lauren is an absolute gem. She probably is the sweetest person you will meet, and when I did for the first time it literally felt like we had been friends as long as Rob and Joe. (Patrick even loved her right away! So, basically, she was in the inner circle immediately) If you know Rob, you know that he is an ambitious, positive, humble guy that definitely doesn’t settle and has the resume and bucket list to prove it. We weren’t sure who he would end up spending the rest of his life with, but we did know she had to be an exceptional woman. Lauren exceeded all expectations and somehow set the bar at some level I didn’t even know existed. She is incredibly brilliant, beautiful, kind and adventurous and compliments Rob to perfection.

Lauren and Rob’s engagement session was long anticipated for so many reasons! First, we we’re just so crazy excited they were tying the knot! Then when they asked me to photograph their wedding things got to a whole new level of anticipation and excitement. I am so honored to be an integral part in their wedding day just as Joe will be in his duties as BM. Lauren has brought me into the inner planning conversations, which has sparked tons of inspiration for the photography on their wedding day I almost can’t handle myself anymore. When we started prepping for their engagement session we decided to do something a little different and shoot in Virginia instead! Of course, once we decided on this I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I LOVE the old town feel of the South, and Alexandria was perfection. I could keep going on and on about these two, but I’ll get to the photos and tell you more when I post their wedding at the Baltimore Country Club in November!!!
