GABI & SCOTT

Engaged  | Bay Head, NJ

There’s nothing like a quiet early morning at the beach watching the sunrise and walking along the edge of the water. We had the most perfect weather to capture Gabi and Scott’s engagement session in Bay Head and they literally glowed all morning! It was so much fun seeing these two together and the joy that radiated from each of them.

Sometimes it’s tough to get the guys excited about shooting, but either Scott is a total trooper or Gabi did a great job preparing him for the session because when I pulled up at their house at 6:15am Scott was already outside, ready to go with a cup of coffee in hand. Amazing! A minute later, Gabi walked out the front door in a drop dead stunning sky blue floral wrap dress. I was so excited and just knew this was going to be an epic session. We headed to the end of the road to the sandy boardwalk entrance of the beach and were greeted with the most pleasant breeze and emerging colorful sky. To start, I sent Scott and Gabi down to walk along the shoreline together towards the jetties. Sometimes I like to call out different things that each of them can whisper to the other or talk about as they are moving in and out of certain sets. Since Gabi owns and operates an amazing Italian restaurant in Hoboken (Sorellina – if you haven’t been, you MUST!), I thought it would be perfect to have Scott whisper some of this favorite foods to her. Sure enough Gabi started hilariously laughing at some of his more or less serious answers.

Capturing an engagement session is one of those unique times when you get to be a little extra creative, walk a little slower and dive a little deeper into the moment. It’s an opportunity to showcase each couple in “real life” and really play up the nuances of their love story and who they are individually and as a couple. Gabi and Scott made it so easy! Through the giggles, hugs and twirls and other more serene moments, it was so obvious to see that their relationship is built on trust, selflessness and a lotta bit of humor. I’d say that’s a pretty good recipe for a power couple!

Enjoy!
